H-E-L-L-O Summer!

Summer has never looked so great!
We have plans for the summer and that just feels good, ya know?  Usually, we don't plan too much in advance but this summer is different.  The girls and I are totally stoked!  I won't go into too much detail about here on the blog because ya never know who is reading it BUT I will say that we are gonna have a blast!  I'll write more about it after the summer is over.
Anyhow, Jackie finished the 1st grade with flying colors.  She is a very good student and her teacher said that she was a joy to have in the classroom and that we should be proud.  Of course we are proud!  I will never miss the opportunity to boast about how wonderful my kids are.
So, you may have read about our lice situation- we have taken up the habit of shampooing with lice shampoo on a regular basis.  It is just that I find the occasional egg here and there.  I know it is totally gross but I find comfort in sharing these sorts of horrible experiences in hopes that somebody out there can relate.  I figure that if you are reading my blog that you don't think the worst of me!
I gave Jackie a haircut and I am getting better (or maybe it is just that she is able to stay more still?).  I also cut the little girls hair and um, not as good...not as good.  I really want to fix their hairdos (mostly the bangs) up a bit but they refuse to cooperate with me on that one.  Oh well, sometimes you just have to let things go!
Finished my Access and Excel classes with an A and a B prospectively.  Really think I deserved 2 A's but that is just another thing I am going to have to let go on!  It was an ongoing nightmare because I had issues with the programs working on my computer. Add that with screaming kids, teachers, and deadlines- ya, I'm relieved that's over and I vowed never to take a computer class again.
Wishing you a great summer folks, don't know how much I will be writing this summer.

Do I have a sign on my head...

that says, "Lice hotel"?

Lice has been spreading around the first grade like a wildfire.  Now, all of the girls at my house have it and we can't seem to get rid of it 100%.

At first, I cried when I figured out what all the itching was about.  Then, I shampooed, combed, and washed and washed everything!  Now, I am shampooing and I think I will wait until Jackie gets out of school to do the total wash down again.  It takes hours!

We've never had lice before, I have never dealt with lice before.  So, it has been an experience to say the least and not one that I'd wish on anyone at all.  Sometimes I think life is all about how we respond to events- because as much as I try- I cannot control the events that occur, ya know?

Anyhow, I am finishing a Microsoft Access class this week- fingers crossed that I will get through this final project.  Jackie finishes school next week and I am looking forward to it all very much.

Little things that make me smile

Ya know how your fingers and toes get all wrinkly after spending a long time in the water?  Well, Alex was in the bath the other day and she was like, "Look Mom!  My brain is in my fingers!"
One morning recently Alex told me, "Hey Mom I didn't have a bad dream last night.  I just went like this when I went to sleep (closed eyes) and this when I woke up (opened eyes)!"  I loved her story.
We were in the line at the store the other day and Jesus had to break the news to the girls that we wouldn't be buying any toys/treats on this particular shopping trip.  Both Kate and Alex began sobbing loudly (this was a new thing) and Jesus took Alex out of the store while I waited in line to pay for a couple of things with Kate.  There was a pretty long line and as we waited, Kate said through tears, "My Daddy said I get nothing. I get NOTHING!"  She repeated this a few times and I couldn't help but smile a little bit because she was so dramatic and several people heard.
The End for now

Another post by Jackie

Mmmm, I like (giggle) going to first grade.  I like doing the monkey bars with my friends.  I like to play with my friends on the bus too.  I like playing with my sisters at home.  I have fun drawing with them and doing gymnastics with them.
Today I played cheetahs and horses with my sisters.  Both of my sisters were the horses and I was the cheetah.  And, um, that's it!
I made a book about nature and here it is:

If you cut down a tree you are hurting nature.
But people do that for a reason cause they make,
trees into paper.
